...The focus will be predominantly on students motor skills.  Walking, crawling, rolling, jumping, under, over, in, out, legato, staccato, slow, fast, forward and back. Pre-K & K will investigate the creative aspect of body language and will start to create mini improvisations.  Patrizia is a former contemporary dancer, toured and performed overseas and created various site as well.  She has a degree in both early childhood and dance education and is presently a Pilates instructor.

ABOVE & BEYOND WITH LEGOS

Children can express their creativity by turning their ideas into reality with Legos. The Lego club is made to get children excited about life.  We will educate them about designs, solutions, team work,  life skills and to be fearless.  They will also learn public speaking skills and present their ideas to their teachers and peers.

Learn how to play your favorite songs on the guitar. 

Students practice more than they ever imagined.  Our non-traditional casual style offers a fun feel and the minutes fly by. 

We inspire students and leave every lesson inspired as well.

Students are playing their favorite songs quickly and effortlessly in no time. We also teach songwriting and how music can help you with your daily feelings and emotional state.

Learn everything you need to know about sewing.  We will explore hand and machine sewing.Students will learn how to design a project and complete 3 sewn creations. It will be a fun time for everyone to design their own creations.

THE PHYSICS of TABLE TENNIS

This is an opportunity to learn the exciting, dynamic and strategic sport of table tennis from coaches from the American Youth Table Tennis Organization (AYTTO), many of whom are top athletes with international table tennis coaching experience. Coaches are trained to teach table tennis in a fun environment that promotes fitness, agility, self-esteem, strategic thinking, team work and fair play. Using our vast amount of table tennis knowledge and our familiarity with the latest developments in physical education, AYTTO takes this high skill sport and breaks it down into easy learning units. 
 
MATH PUZZLES

Math games and puzzles for young children- Bingo, Uno Cards and much more.  We will use math manipulatives to learn addition and subtraction for problem solving.  We will also practice writing numbers and using number lines.  Andrea is a Pre-K paraprofessional at CWS.
 
 

SIMPLY BAKING

In this club, children will enjoy the passion of baking both sweet and savory recipes featuring old classic recipes with a twist….baked apples, cornbread, carrot loaf, fresh bread and more.  We will focus on reading recipes and incorporating math & measurement skills into this club.  Gary is the CWS early childhood and art teacher. 
 
 

LEARNING THROUGH GAMES

In this club, you are invited to have fun learning math through the use of board games. We will learn sequencing of numbers, patterns of moving forward & backward, learning numbers randomly (odd & even numbers) and learning to add and subtract. We will engage in a variety of games, including Monopoly, Trouble, Zingo, Hi Ho Cherry O, Operation and much more. Andrea works in the Pre-K class with Suma.

ROBOTICS, ROBOTICS, ROBOTICS!

The Lego Robotics Club is for any level of Lego builders.  Beginning Lego Builders and the more advanced Lego engineers are welcomed.  If you want to learn how to create a cool Lego game or toy and program it with a laptop to do fun things such as kick a small soccer ball or spin a top then this is the club for you.  If you want to learn some of the physics and science of how machines and robots work, then this is the club for you.  Or if you just want to create a fun and silly basic robot car while visiting with friends, then this is the club for you.

CROCHET

Join us to learn the first basic steps to crocheting wonderful items, from scarves, to hats, to bags! This club will teach you how to make a foundation chain, single/double/triple crochet stitches and also teach you how to read patterns. Your supply fee will get you a crochet hook and 2 balls of yarn. (Color preferences to be discussed at the first club date).

EDIBLE ARTS

Every child wants to play with his or her food. It's how they learn. So instead of saying, “stop playing with your food”, this club will encourage their creativity with these fun, edible art projects. Let them explore and eat! The club will also foster good dietary habits in children! A win-win!

INTERACTIVE GAMES CLUB

This club adds an interactive twist to traditional board games. Kids will be physically active while using logic skills. For example, the game Twister will require the kids to place an inflatable balloon under their shirts challenging them to move steadily not to drop the balloon as they reach for their spots on the mat.

EXPLORING NUMBERS!

We can explore all concepts of math through many hands on manipulates.  Your child will come home excited to show you what they have learned.  The children will begin with the basic skill needed to achieve the next steps in math.  Without even knowing it, we all use math for our everyday life and it is one important subject that continues to grow as we get older.

Using big blocks, classroom blocks and table blocks, children will explore building and creating structures that they will be able to play in.  Dramatic play will also be included.  Come and put your imagination to work!!!!!  We will also introduce math concepts and measurement.

Do you enjoy writing your own creative stories? Well...then join creative writing club! Members of creative writing club will explore various writing genres including: fiction story writing, poetry, and play writing. By the end of the club, students will publish their original writing in a book(s) to share with family and friends.

Do you like being outside and digging in the dirt? Join us for a messy nature art club. You’ll spend time outdoors in this club so make sure you wear rain jackets and proper winter gear! On days when the weather is not safe, we will take things we found from the garden and playground and make art with it. So, let’s explore dirt, figure out compost and just being with nature.
